Prepare Your Visit

Dhaka is full of intensity and imagination—layered with history, resilience, and creativity. The city may move fast, but it welcomes slowly—with curiosity and warmth. The best time to travel South is during the festival of Chobi Mela, a perfect occasion to experience Dhaka’s energy, exchange ideas, and connect with the global photography community.

Chobi Mela XI is the 11th edition of the International Festival of Photography held biennially in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Showcasing critical contemporary photography and visual storytelling from both Bangladesh and around the world, this year’s festival is centered on the theme “Re” — exploring ideas of renewal, rebuilding, reimagining, regeneration, and resilience. The festival runs for two weeks and is free and open to all visitors.

The most comfortable time to visit is between November and February, when Dhaka’s winter offers mild, dry weather and cooler evenings. This season has ideal conditions for exploring exhibitions and moving across the city.
