“Can you remember who you were, before the world told you who to be?” — This quote by
Charles Bukowski has always inspired Munia and continues to shape her perspective on herself and her work.
Tanjila Biswas Munia is a photographer practicing her craft for almost seven years in Dhaka, Bangladesh. She has always been drawn to small details and the quiet visuals that often go unnoticed. After completing her graduation, she decided to follow her passion and become a photographer. In Bangladesh, it’s not easy for women to choose this path, but Munia has never been afraid of breaking a few family rules to pursue what she truly loves.
She joined a photography school (Counter Foto) to learn and grow in the field, and learned to pick up her camera whenever a moment speaks to her. Every project begins from a personal emotion or something deeply rooted within her. Munia uses images as a language that people can feel, and she can never stop photographing; Munia wants to live and die with her camera.
