Laleh is a London-based writer and researcher working on photography and visual culture in relation to the Middle East and South Asia. She holds a BA in Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Cambridge, specialising in Arabic and Persian. Her undergraduate thesis examined how the Egyptian state shapes and regulates image-making in Cairo. She is one of the editors of MajlisMag, a South Asian literary and visual magazine, and currently volunteers with West London Welcome, a refugee support centre in London.
