Mrittika Gain

Mrittika Gain is a Bangladeshi photographer currently based in Dhaka, Bangladesh. Her practices address social issues, climate change, geographical, and political issues. In 2021, she completed three-year Professional course in Photography from Pathshala South

Asian Media Institute.

During her studies, she received the Sam Bank Scholarship. She also received a DADA scholarship and studied Photojournalism and documentary photography at Hochschule Hannover, University of Applied Sciences and Arts. She was a participant in ‘Stories for Change Phase l’, which is a collaboration project between Pathshala and Oxfam Novib. Currently, Mrittika is studying Fine Arts at the University of Development Alternative (UODA).

About Us

Chobi Mela, the first festival of photography in Asia, is one of the most exciting ventures that Drik and Pathshala has initiated. The first Chobi Mela – International Festival of Photography was held in December 2000 – January 2001. It is the most demographically inclusive photo festival in the world and is held every two years in Dhaka.
